Context
Invoicing is one of the key features that new to franchise customers seek when choosing QuickBooks to run their business. Internally, the Invoicing team hadn't shipped a customer facing experience for over a year and needed something to focus on and get excited about. Through a mobility move, I embraced this challenge to focus on growing my design leadership capabilities. As the design leader, I gained experience managing up to advocate for a brand new and paradigm-challenging customer experience, I gained practical experience managing performance related issues on the design team, and I partnered closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver customer and business outcomes.

  • The experience we shipped out-performed the control by 1.5 points for created invoices paid on Intuit "rails"
  • Repositioning invoicing from a bookkeeping task to a front office task drove a 14% lift in companies sending pay enabled invoices.
